Welcome! Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your interest in Chris Walken, one of the most interesting and talented performers you will ever read about. If you asked me ten years ago what I would be doing with my spare time, I would have never answered "I would like to help manage a Chris Walken Fan Club," but now it has become a part of my everyday life, a very interesting and exciting responsibility. I have met people from over 30 countries who are fans of Chris. I met Chris in August of 2001, along with about twenty-six of our Fan Club members, after seeing Chris perform in "The Seagull" in Central Park. We all had a good time, including Chris, who sat down for a light meal and wine with us. He brought his freind artist/director Julian Schnabel too, so that was an extra little bonus. It was very rewarding to be able to bring some of Walken's most dedicated fans to New York to meet him. As I looked around the room, we had people from all over, including eleven people from Japan. I thought, "How rare it must be that everyone in this room has seen movies like Puss In Boots, The Happiness Cage, and Roseland!" It was amazing. I wrote my experiences of that weekend down in a journal, just so I would remember. Chris was asked later (Empire, March 2001) if it was strange to meet his fans like that, to which he replied, "I had never gone to anything like that before. I was a little bit apprehensive but I had a good time. They were very attractive, and bright, and nice. I was very comfortable. They had terrific taste, the food and everything was very beautifully done. I'd only seen those kinds of scenes in movies and it wasn't at all like that. It was very gracious." What do I do with the rest of my time? I am a freelance Graphic Designer who works at home (check out my work) I have done all types of print work, from packaging to direct mail to point-of-purchase. This site was one of my first "practice" web sites as I learned this new skill. My husband, Jonathan works at home as well, helping me on the side and working a full-time salaried job that allows him to stay home. We have one child, who was born in January of 2000, and we have two cats. My husband and I are originally from Michigan but moved to North Carolina in 1994.... we hate snow. And, what about Chris Walken? Well, thanks to many of his most dedicated fans, there is tons of information out there. Five years ago, it wasn't like this. As fans began to find each other online, we shared information and helped each other collect rare movies and television appearances. Chris is a very down-to-earth guy, but he has also been in showbusiness his entire life, so he has an eccentric side. He is always freindly to his fans, but he is able to lead a very private life as well. Many actors who work with him say he is quiet and soft-spoken, but also very funny when he does open his mouth. He has a strong need to work constantly, which is good for his fans since we never run out of things to watch. He keeps very healthy, jogs every day, cooks for himself whenever possible, and he has the gusto and vitality of a thirty-five year old. In his roles, the man is a chameleon, which is probably why it took me so long to "notice" that I was watching the same actor in "Batman Returns" as was in "The Prophecy" Most of Chris Walken's fans are very freindly and interesting people! I have made so many new freinds through this online community, and some of them have become close freindships that will last a lifetime. They say that the internet can be dangerous, but it can also be a "safe" place where people can be themselves, outside the boundries of society and cultures. I am very impressed with our fan community and I hope that you will join us. Thanks again for your interest! Candy Rosenbaum |
